Batchwise ("Batchwise", "we", "us", or "our") provides a Shopify application that enables merchants to bulk update products, metafields, and collections within Shopify Admin (the “App”).

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when merchants install and use the Batchwise app.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Batchwise only accesses and processes the minimum information required to provide its functionality.

When a merchant installs the App, we may access or store the following information via the Shopify API:

A. Store Information
  • Store domain (e.g., storename.myshopify.com)

B. Product Data

  • Product titles
  • Product descriptions
  • Vendor information
  • Product types
  • Product status (active, draft, archived)
  • Product metafields
  • Collection assignments

C. Technical Data

  • Secure Shopify API access tokens
  • Limited job history data necessary to support undo functionality

Batchwise does not collect:

  • Customer payment information
  • Customer passwords
  • Full customer profiles for marketing
  • Credit card details
  • Personal customer browsing data

2. How We Use Information

We use the information accessed through Shopify strictly to:

  • Perform bulk product updates requested by the merchant
  • Update metafields and collections as instructed
  • Enable undo functionality for bulk operations
  • Sync billing and subscription status
  • Maintain and improve app performance
  • Ensure system reliability and security

We do not:

  • Sell merchant or store data
  • Share store data for advertising purposes
  • Use store data for unrelated analytics or profiling

3. Data Storage and Security

Batchwise stores only the minimum data required to operate the App, including:

  • Store domain
  • Limited job history for undo functionality
  • Secure Shopify access tokens

We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect store data from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure.

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Data Retention

We retain store data only for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide app functionality
  • Support undo operations
  • Comply with legal obligations

When a merchant uninstalls Batchwise:

  • Shopify access tokens are deleted
  • Billing identifiers are cleared
  • Store-related operational data is removed or anonymized

5. Shopify and Third-Party Services

Batchwise operates entirely within Shopify’s ecosystem and uses Shopify APIs.

Shopify independently processes certain information in accordance with its own Privacy Policy:

Batchwise may rely on secure hosting providers solely to operate the App infrastructure. These providers process data only under our instructions and are required to maintain confidentiality and security.

6. GDPR & Mandatory Compliance Webhooks

Batchwise complies with Shopify’s mandatory data protection requirements, including:

  • Customers Data Request
  • Customers Redact
  • Shop Redact

If we receive a valid data request via Shopify’s compliance webhooks, we will respond in accordance with Shopify’s requirements and applicable data protection laws.

7. International Data Transfers

Batchwise may process data in countries outside the merchant’s country of residence. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

8. Children’s Data

Batchwise is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
